Alternative Healing

Our main goal is to combine conventional western medicine and surgery with complimentary therapies to produce a unique and powerful healing combination. Here are just a few of the powerful modalities we use to get your furry companion healthy and keep him/her that way!

Animal Chiropractic and Manipulation

Chiropractic: from Greek words meaning done by hand. It is based on the principle that the body heals itself when the skeletal system is correctly aligned and the nervous system functioning optimally.

Chiropractic adjustments gently manipulate the spinal vertebrae to correct areas of fixation or disruption. These areas show up as pain, limping, reluctance to move or posture changes such as an arched back, hanging head low or “guarding the neck stiffly.”

Certain dog breeds are born with characteristics that predispose them to neck and back problems. Chondrodystrophic breeds (short, crooked legs with a long back) like Dachshunds, Bassets, Beagles, Shih Tzus Lhasa Apso, Pekenese and English Bull dogs to name a few.

We are very grateful to Dr Ashley for what she has done for our Dakota. She wasn’t moving well if at all, 5 years ago Dakota underwent a back surgery. She wasn’t in good shape, couldn’t move, every time she tried she would scream. Since we have been with Dr Ashley every other week for acupuncture our Dakota is a new dog. She runs now, her tail wags. These are things she hasn’t done since her back surgery. We can’t say thank you enough for giving us our sweet girl back. She has endured so much pain since her surgery, to see her now is heart wrenching, she moves freely since her acupuncture, to see her happy and running gets us very emotional.

Acupunture

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine was developed around 659BC to 621BC by looking at patterns within nature as a whole and studying how those patterns are also reflected within the body.

They used these observations to create a system of medicine that promotes balance both within the body and mind as well as with the environment.

The practice of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine is comprised of four main components: acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy and Tui-na (medical manipulation, similar to chiropractic manipulation).

Cold Laser Therapy

Low Level Laser Therapy, commonly known as LLLT (also cold laser, soft laser, LILT) is a form of phototherapy which involves the application of monochromatic and coherent light to injuries and lesions to stimulate healing.

Common uses of cold laser therapy:

  • Disc disease
  • Muscle pulls
  • Speed post operative healing
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Relieve pain
  • Ear infections
  • Hotspots
  • Lick Granulomas
  • Heal injuries quickly

Allergies

Healing of skin infections, ear infections and allergies begins and ends with the guts until you fix the gut and detoxify the liver nothing you smear on the skin or give as a pill will solve the issue!! So call us and set up an appointment so we can get your pet on his or her way to an improved state of well being.

Hormonal Therapy

We utilize testing formulated by Dr Beiber and Dr. Dodd to assess your pets hormonal system and if imbalances or deficiencies are identified we start therapy to correct them. Many conditions and symptoms can be attributed to hormonal imbalance and include: poor athletic performance, fatigue, excessive drinking and or urinating, allergies, immune mediated diseases and many more. Ask us about exhausted adrenal gland syndrome testing so we can help get your companion back to the picture of good health!

Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP) Therapy also known as PRP

Autologous conditioned plasma is a specialized blood product made by concentrating a patient’s own platelets and growth factors in a small volume of plasma (the yellow, fluid portion of blood in which red and white blood cells and platelets are suspended). The concentrated ACP can be used to supplement the patient’s own growth factors to improve signaling and recruitment of cells to an injury site. ACP is one of the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) products being successfully used to assist in the treatment of orthopedic injuries in human and veterinary medicine.
