Chiropractic : from Greek words meaning done by hand. It is based on the principle that the body heals itself when the skeletal system is correctly aligned and the nervous system functioning optimally.
Chiropractic adjustments gently manipulate the spinal vertebrae to correct areas of fixation or disruption. These areas show up as pain, limping, reluctance to move or posture changes such as an arched back, hanging head low or “guarding the neck stiffly.”
Certain dog breeds are born with characteristics that predispose them to neck and back problems. Chondrodystrophic breeds (short, crooked legs with a long back) like Dachshunds, Bassets, Beagles, Shih Tzus Lhasa Apso, Pekenese and English Bull dogs to name a few.

Large breed dogs like Dobermans and Great Danes can be affected by Wobbler’s Syndrome which results from a malformation in the cervical spine (neck).
Regular adjustments in these dogs relieves pain and improves function, mobility and quality of life. Chiropractic treatment can help dogs with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) feel better, retain function and avoid surgery.
Dogs that have had anterior cruciate ligament tears (ACL) or a luxating patella tend to develop sore backs from limpimg and unbalanced weight distribution.
Even after surgery to repair the injury, we need to support the back until healing is complete, or else pain will keeping moving from one spot to another.
Dogs with arthritis or hip dysplasia get sore backs from limpimg or a shift in weight bearing due to pain. Regular adjustments help maintain proper pelvic balance and spinal alignment so backs and joints feel better.
